Our Staff…
All our staff are fully qualified in their respective fields but that is a given in our industry. A qualified instructor doesn’t necessarily equal a great instructor. We believe the ability of instructors to engage their students and impart passion is the biggest influence on the way students will respond to their outdoor experience.
What really sets our staff apart is:
And most importantly…

Tim Gill
Tim began work as an outdoor instructor over ten years ago and has been teaching in the outdoors ever since. He is a climbing instructor and assessor (SAREA), white water instructor, high ropes instructor and assessor and workplace trainer and assessor. Over the last five years, Tim has worked as a trekking and climbing guide overseas (Nepal, PNG, NZ), in Antarctica as a trainer in survival, rescue and first aid and in Africa and the Middle East as a safety and risk consultant. When he is not in Antarctica, he also teaches for the Outdoor Recreation program at TAFESA and teaches wilderness first aid for Equip Health Systems.

Dan Coletti
After leaving behind a job in management ‘indoors’, Dan has spent the last five years working as an instructor and guide throughout Australia and South East Asia. With qualifications in a variety of disciplines including Rock climbing, bush walking, kayaking and cycle touring, Dan has spent hundreds of days teaching in the field. Most recently, he has been working as the Operations Manager for Chessell Adventures, leading and organizing their Kokoda Track operation in Papua New Guinea. Dan’s experience in logistics, management and field leadership are widely sought after and a foundation for Outgrow.
